Taranaki Medical Foundation offers a range of grants, adhoc funding and scholarships to further medical education and research in the local medical community:

EDUCATION AND RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP
​
Two $6000 lump sum scholarships are awarded each year for research or postgraduate education support. Applications are always open and one scholarship is awarded every six months.

To apply for this scholarship you will:
​

be a New Zealand citizen or hold permanent residency
-
hold New Zealand medical registration
-
have a commitment to the Taranaki medical community and the intention to stay in the region, or return after training.

be a registered financial member of TMF.
​
NB: This scholarship can be applied for multiple times, but once awarded to an individual twice no further applications will be accepted for two years.
Apply for postgraduate education or research scholarship
RESEARCH ASSISTANCE GRANT
​
Research assistance grants are small subsidies of less than $6000 available for incidental research costs such as medical consumables, statistical costs or other research assistance.
Applications are considered three times a year:

First Trimester: 1 July - 31 October

Second Trimester: 1 November - 28/29 February

Third Trimester: 1 March - 30 June

Full members of TMF are eligible, as are associate members (registrars, GPEP). The RMOs of full members may also apply.

GPEP CONFERENCE GRANT
​
Four grants of $1500 are available year-round to assist GPEP in attending conferences. Preference given to first year GPEP, and those who have not received assistance before.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATIVE INNOVATION GRANT
​
The Multidisciplinary Collaborative Innovation Grant is tailored to foster creativity, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the dynamic medical community of the Taranaki region. This grant is uniquely designed to empower medical professionals, healthcare practices, and a diverse range of healthcare providers to collaborate, innovate and transcend traditional boundaries.

MAJOR PROJECT FUNDING

For funding of $10,000 or more. The Executive Committee may request a presentation where they can learn more about your project.
​
Apply for major project funding.

Taranaki Medical Foundation reserves the right not to issue any scholarship or grant if no acceptable applications are received.
